At North Court Family Dentistry, we use a system called The Healthy Start. It's a series of appliances that are worn at night and for a few hours during the day to teach their bodies naturally to become better breathers. These appliances address sleep disordered breathing issues as well as encourage teeth to erupt correctly if started early enough. Many kids who are compliant and use the appliances correctly go on to not need braces or to wear retainers in the future.

We also use an appliance called a Habit Corrector that teaches a child's tongue to stay at the roof of their mouth. This allows the tongue to push on the teeth and widen the palate with every swallow. It's a holistic and safe way to help a child achieve a better night's sleep.
